There is a topic about decisions to become a freelance writer. But once you are a writer, where do you find inspiration? Probably each writer has faced the problem of being reluctant to write anything. When you face it, what do you do?

Oh...I know this feeling of being reluctant to write anything. That happens with me when I'm writing something for a very long time. I mean, I love to write different things and when I have to write some long project....Uh...that makes me feel terrible.
What I do in such cases is just relaxing for a while, walking a bit or bicycling. Communication with family also helps me, especially if it's common chatting Smiley

I find inspiration in my emotions. And I get greatest emotions from communication with people I love Smiley
Sure, sometimes solitude is necessary and it can as well bring positive results in terms of inspiration.

I think that when inspiration has gone it is very hard to make it back. Inspiration can't be artificially provoked, IMHO. Only natural inspiration is real and authentic. Another thing is that writers have to motivate themselves for writing even at times when inspiration has gone.

Books are my cure. So when I have a blockage I simply go to the library. Once I took a book from there and read it through the night. That gave me inspiration and irresisitible desire to write for the following month. Probably the work of another writer is the best motivation for me.

Guys, it's great that books give you inspiration. But what about parties, live communication?

Susy, I see what you mean. Live communication can be a great support for your inspiration.  When I feel lack of inspiration I like to call my best fried and this really works for me. Just one hour of conversation Grin and I'm ready to create.
I like parties and they also might help but that depends on what kind of parties you are talking about, cause "morning after" doesn't really inspire me Shocked

LOL
You are right, Barton_H_S! Parties are great sources of entertainment and hangovers but can hardly motivate someone to write a good article Wink

Writers' block is one of greatest fears among writers. To be honest, I don't think there's some general recipe to fight writers' block. It may be different for the same person depending on the case.
