Guys, I think it will be interesting to share our experience on how each of us decided to begin freelance writing career. Or if you haven't made up your mind yet, what keeps you from moving towards that direction? When was the first time you thought you would write for a living?

Thanks Audrey for starting up this thread.
As a person who hasn't decided yet whether to become a freelance writer or not I will be interested to hear writers' stories Smiley
I am currently a student and I'm still thinking of the field I will be most comfortable to work in. But I do enjoy writing Smiley
I don't remember the actual moment I discovered that I like to write. When I was a teen, I had my diary and I remember a thrillin feeling of joy when I wrote down something in my diary. Then I went to university and found that I like to write articles on art issues to our university newspaper. That is probably one of things I love most of all in my life!

Well, it's easy with me. I was virtually fed up being employee always having somebody behind my back. So I decided to quit it and start freelancing.
Now I work for myself and I work from home.
I consider freelancing to be the best option for me.

Hi, all

Here is my story

About 7 years I spent sitting in the publishing house. I liked my job and everything was good.  I also have an old friend who became freelance writer soon after university and made fantastic progress in this field.  We had regular meetings and each time I had a feeling that I’m moving in wrong direction.  Every month this feeling was getting stronger and stronger. I started to write several articles for other customers from outside.  In 2 years after I started part-time freelancing I had dozens of happy customers and was surprised by amount I earned. About 3 years ago I made a decision to quit my publisher and shifted to full-time freelancing. And now I do not regret about my decision. I’m free, independent and happy!

Have a nice weekend    Wink Wink
