Today found an interesting blog post at http://beamansworld.blogspot.com
These are 8 questions and answers to writers that worth reading. And I’d love to see your answers to these questions  Wink…

Eight Questions and Answers
I was tagged for a meme by Clayton Lowe and Rob Kistner. First I am to paste the rules then to carry out the task. In an earlier post I asked readers to send any questions they might want to ask about me and so I have used those as the catalysts.

Rules: Each person posts the rules before their list, then they list 8 things about themselves. At the end of the post, that person tags and links to 8 other people; then visits those people’s sites and comments, letting them know that they have been tagged, and to come read the post, so they know what they have to do.

Question #1 from Camille

Have you ever been in love? And if so, what was that experience like for you?

Yes, I have been in love once. The experience at first was exhilarating and beautiful but turned into a nightmare when her family separated us based on cultural differences. She was Indian and they wanted an arranged marriage. I don’t really want to say anymore about it. Suffice to say it hit me very hard.

Question #2 from Chesca

Aside from writing, what other talents or interests do you have?

I’ve won a number of Art awards here and there, as well as studying for five years at Art College.
I have quite a wide variety of interests which include Psychology, Politics, Philosophy, Animals, Sports, People (as you can probably tell from my stories), and strangely enough, maps.

Question #3 from Rethabile

Why do you write?

I write due to a certain sense of loneliness (not that I am alone) and writing offers a bridge and open gateway from my mind to other minds. That is my honest answer which I didn’t particularly want to state but which is the number one underlying reason.

Question #4 from Rob Kistner

As an agnostic here, speaking to a self-professed atheist -- do you have any sense of a 'spiritualism', or the like... anything apart from the physical/temporal plane?

No, I have no belief in anything spiritual. That’s not to say I am not fascinated by subjects to do with spiritualism and religion. My imagination conjures up all sorts of fantasies regarding ghosts, an afterlife, different dimensions but I just do not and cannot take them as anything more than a bit of fun. I used to believe in God when younger (brought up Roman Catholic) but after much contemplation I consciously rid myself of monotheism and that which is not scientifically sound. Spiritualism on all its forms is a very romantic and often beautiful thing to think about and especially to write about but in my case, only as fantasy.

Question #5 from Paisley

What inspires you?Huh

It depends what I am writing. For the ‘People’ short stories, then it is the people I see and talk to. In regards to poetry, then I am driven by the flux of emotions which create images and wisps of sentences in my mind. I guess a form of mental discharge. My political posts are mostly inspired by injustice, particularly in defence against unfair accusations thrown at Israel.

Question #6 from Christina

I want to know about your family. Are you close to them, # of siblings?
And does/has family ever been a subject of your poetry?

I am reasonably close to my parents, yes but not the rest of my family who I’ve long ago lost contact with. They live in different parts of the United Kingdom. I am an only child and no, my family has never been the subject of my writings and probably never will be.

Question #7 from Clay Lowe

What is your basic philosophy of life?

My one philosophy of life is never to have a philosophy of life. The world changes, people change, everything changes and like many religions, I don’t want to be terribly out of date and thus blinded. I share what most people in the civilised world hold dear however, those of life, love, kindness, freedom and fairness. The teachings of the Buddhists Tich Nyat Hahn and Ayya Khema would come close if I were to construct a personal philosophy.

Question #8 from Marloes

If you had all the money in the world, where would you live and what would you be doing profession wise?

I would have five flats in five major European cities. Probably London, Berlin, Barcelona, Monte Carlo and Oslo. Then I would go from one to the other during the year. I would not have a profession but would study (all subjects) for the rest of my life and visit art galleries, museums, theatres, parties and all the Formula One Grand Prixs!

Hey,
Of course I know the saying "Lady's first", but this is not the case.
Why couldn't you answer these 8 questions?
I think these questions were formulated specially for Beaman, so I don't think I need to answer them.
And this guy, Beaman is interesting person. I've visited his blog and I can share his passion in art and studying. I can understand even his dislike of Islam
