Hello, all.
Writing is my passion. I love it but I happened to become an accountant Undecided. My love for writing is the reason why I am here. I'd like to know if I can make money from my writing skills. Is it worth it to quit my job and become a freelance writer?

Why don't you try to be a writer and an accountant at the same time at least for a start? Then you'll see the perspective whether it worth it or not.

I completely agree with Roger. Don't hurry to quit your permanent job. You might face disappointment when entering writing market. On the other hand, people shouldn't be afraid of changes, because changes happen and we should be ready to take them. Besides those who risk may eventually turn into real winners. That depends, you know.
Anyway, Marsha, try to start some freelance writing activity and then make a final decision whether to quit your current job and start a completely different career.
Good luck!
Keep us informed on your decision Smiley

Thank you so much, guys. I'm really grateful for your advice.  That's an idea to be an accountant and a writer at the same time. I hope one day I'll become one of you - a real freealancer Cool
I'll try to keep you informed.

Marsha, most folks here were quite reserved in their recommendations to you. Maybe they're right. But if you strongly feel that writing is your passion, go ahead! Don't be afraid of first failures!
