It's not a secret that one may be very talented and gifted in writing, but that doesn't guarantee success. What do you think one should be to get high in one's writing career?

I still think that talent lies in the core of success. Especially if we speak of creative activity as writing is. But I can hardly disagree with you that not all talented writers become successful. Sometimes they lack self-promotion skills, confidence and ability to search for options which are indeed crucial.

Sandy, I also believe that talent is essential. But sadly, many people succeed as writers without that. They just fit marketing schemes or whatever.

Hi all. I strongly disagree with u that talent is the key element of success. I'd rather call it preference. But for me ability to work hard and strong will for this are much more important. If you want to achieve success in creative writing try to learn more and work harder Wink

Hi guys!
I completely agree with Roger regarding strong will. That is actually the reason of real achievements. And that's the same for writers, artists, businessmen or physicians.

I think that ability to be easily inspired, naturally generate ideas and rich vocabulary are essential. Cool
