Hi everyone, and its nice to be here. This is my first post. But I have a question. I post on a C.S. Lewis forum, and they have a creative writing section. A few years ago when I was starting one of my books I put the first chapter on it, just for fun. I didn't know then that I could finish it as a full length (65,000 word) story. A long time passed, I finished the story and way forgot that I ever put the beginning there. But then a few people became interested in it, and asked me eagerly for more chapters. 'How sweet!' I thought, and obliged. But now I have posted nearly all the chapters, only five left, and I am concerned. I have tried to send this story to a few publishers and not being very long at this and not knowing what I am doing of course I have had no success. Do you think I should finish posting the rest on that forum? Is this a form of being published, i.e. when I am submitting the story to a publisher and they ask-'has this story been published before?' Need I be concerned that someone might seek to steal my story? Thank you for your replies, I really appreciate it!
